Outsized Talent Gone Too Soon

It came as a shock — but probably not a surprise — when John Pinette died in a Pittsburgh hotel room earlier this month less than three weeks after turning 50. Although there was no autopsy, a medical examiner said Pinette was suffering from liver and heart disease and his personal physician signed off on the cause of death as a pulmonary embolism.
