Flying By the Seat of His Pants

Psychedelic, Man

The refrain in Joni Michell’s hit song “Big Yellow Taxi” goes “Don’t it always seem to go that you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.” That dates back to 1970, but the essence of those lyrics still applies today. Many of the most successful entities in Atlantic City’s recent history are themed around nostalgia or wistful yearnings.

Girasole, Atlantic City’s Pacific Avenue-fronting jewel, is equal parts earnest Italian dining experience combined with glamorous Mediterranean-tinged décor and ambiance. Considering that founder Gino Iovino’s original calling was in the world of high-end Italian fashion, this only seems fitting.
