The Atlantic City Alliance and the Moment Factory of Montreal will debut a sophisticated, 3-D light-projection show that will bring Boardwalk Hall’s historic façade to life on July 4 and every night throughout the year.
ATLANTIC CITY — Following the July 4 “Red, White and Blue Celebration Concert” at Kennedy Plaza on Wednesday (starting 7:30pm on the A.C. Boardwalk, adjacent to Boardwalk Hall), and a fireworks display after the concert, the Atlantic City Alliance (ACA) will debut a 3-D sound and light-projection show that will illuminate the façade of Boardwalk Hall. The fireworks display will be the largest in New Jersey this year, and will be fired from a barge off the A.C. beachfront around 9:30pm. The sound and light show will begin immediately after the fireworks.
The sound and light show was created by Moment Factory, a Montreal, Canada-based company that has produced similar projects for more than 300 clients including Cirque du Soleil, Jay-Z, Disney, Céline Dion, Microsoft and for Madonna’s new MDNA world tour.
The ACA says that the show is part of its plan to add non-gaming attractions to boost tourism in Atlantic City. The highly sophisticated, 3-D projection show will include surround sound, theatrical lighting and the latest architectural video mapping technologies, and will bring Boardwalk Hall’s historic façade to life every night, all year long.
The multi-million dollar project includes 12 projectors mounted around Kennedy Plaza that will beam light and video onto the exterior of the building. Funding for the show will come from the ACA's $30 million annual marketing budget over the next five years. The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) is reported to have contributed $2 million.
The festivities and lighting show debut are free and open to the public. For more information, call (609) 343-6326.

Madonna’s new album and particularly her concert prove that she remains provocative and relevant. There’s no doubt that the Material Mom can still bring it.

The perception is that it’s all about gaming [in Atlantic City]. And clearly it’s much more than that so that’s the opportunity, to make sure that doesn’t happen."
Further, as Atlantic City Weekly has learned earlier this week that two key associates at the CRDA who were spearheading an Arts District campaign for Mississippi Avenue in the Ducktown neighborhood of the resort, are both no longer with the CRDA,
