There are lots of cool storylines in the Big Game again, and plenty of local places that make for a fun hangout — even if you care more about the commercials than the contest itself.

Atlantic City is staring down the barrel of Labor Day weekend after experiencing the single most diverse array of live entertainment ever presented here during one summer. Not just during the last 34 summers of the casino era, either, but throughout its entire gaudy, bawdy and, occasionally tawdry 160-year-old past.

With all the talk around town about surviving the gaming competition by providing non-gaming amenities, the first week in June is a prime example of following up on that mandate.
Between Friday and Monday, Atlantic City will experience the single biggest weekend of entertainment the town has ever seen, and with the most demographically diverse collection of artists, too. Few cities anywhere can match the quality, quantity and calibre of shows this weekend, if ever.

With Halloween coming up, it’s time to compile a list of my favorite scary movies. I’m an old school fan who prefers suspense to shock, and the bravery of ordinary people in supernatural situations. And, as you’ll notice from the list, I can’t hide the fact that I love a good haunted house tale.

French Quarter buffet at Showboat did away with lunch prices and now charge the dinner price all day long. I think Caesars did this also.Next time I go to A.C. “Ok, so i love to gamble, blackjack, poker and the occassional slots with the little lady but can got figure out how to get what I just deserve when it comes to promotions. I plan it all at by sticking to one casino for its set amount of time and and jump on the idea of free money. The problem is the dishonesty and poor treatment due to there poor advertising methods and allowing different people to get away with different things. Now my recent example is the so called old hilton. So i signed up for the next atlantic card as the promotion suggested, claimed the whole being local thing that i had read which i was looked down on for even mentioning. Anyway, besides i think its funny how they feel that out of all the ads they print, there is never possibly an error and the customer seems to never be right and at the place, even respected. I asked for a new card for the new club which I read free and clear with no apostophees or making reference to knowing more details in regards”

“didn't get to finish there. anyway, i was giving a new card and said something about being let go about the timing since i last played there. I'm thinking, whatever even if it made no sense to me from what i read but was claiming to be a problem. Then i the slots for what must have been 3-4 hours and no promotion for me. i was first told i was ineligidible which makes no sense in many ways and then i ask to speak to a supervisor who denied hearing any word out of my mouth and acted completely inappropriately while insulting and degrading me for doing nothing wrong and from what i assume, was for a mere 5 slot cash. most discusting thing i ever dealt with and would love to know if anyone dealt with the same since with the way i was being treated and strangely being asked to leave, i missed out on filing a proper complaint procedure which i would love to be explained to me just because i don't feel like anyone deserves such treatment. I would truly appreciate any support advice”

“What does anyone do, suggest, and expect when having to call out casino employees of any of the many types of lies and errors and are then supported by there supervisors when it comes to their wrong, my own money, time, embarissment, etc. and denial of any means to resolve as most smart business that understand money and customer service, respect, and that it isn't the employee who is always right without even hearing the entirety. Please supply some useful suggetions and ideas that wold produce what majority of companies making this type of money would proceed. It just interferes with my ability feel like everyone else due to the amazing number a bad incidences that any jack in the box manager would be curious why i was always getting the punishment. And it is all about money at casinos, my money that mine and we all know the negative proven ramifications produced by being taken, cheated, humiliated, and treated unfair and even more when it with betting money. wish i had support”

“Although a some-what high roller, I only found out about the lay-off of my Trump Plaza casino host (CB) after constant inquiry! She was our entry to the casino and getting rooms, etc., as well as an engaging arm of the casino. Recently, we couldn’t sign-in and check our Trump balances/info, the website not responding for 2 days, and no host to call. Without the personal touch all you have left are “machines” and, although fun and a primary attraction, we like the personal touch. No host, no stay! We don’t do web check-in. We came to love Trump Plaza..namely, the VIP Club check-in staff, floor staff, servers, rooms, etc., all superb! But, no host, no go! Having no VIP Club to check-in (as the case last week) when spending $1000s is poor service (even a Signature Player waited 40 mins to replace a key!). It is the member players that persevere when the masses stop coming and go to "racinos." Marketing needs to change, not end: let the masses see what you offer and BRING BACK MY HOST!”

“So both Trumps, Tropicana and Revel have all thrown in the towel. They don't even bother to post their promotions.”

“@ABR, always check your status every 3 months to determine where you stand, Many casinos let points and status expire every 6 months without telling you; it used to be one year but many have changed that. They used to send you an email or snail mail to encourage your business, but not always anymore. Also, never accept a play n stay offer without giving the provider at least some of your business. They know if they get stiffed, and your offers will cease.”

“Don't waste your time or money anywhere except the Borgata. Clean great bedrooms, no trash huggers hanging around the casino. Employees and security happy and helpful. Great buffet, great promotions and rewards programs. Nice premium clubrooms and hottest looking drink servers in A/C. Trust me... I visit bi-weekly.. Trop is generous.. But Borgata is the place to stay safe and feel at ease. That's most important.”

“Used to visit A/C 4-5 times a year. We where always taken care of at Ballys.
Something has gone very wrong at Ballys the last three times that we have now cut them out completely. Told them that we needed a late check in and even called while on our way. No rooms available when we arrived after driving 4 hrs WTF are you kidding me? Never Never again. The Night manager at the front desk was absolutely useless. Told me it's a busy weekend!!!”

“me and my husband just got back from atlantic city on the 20th, we stayed at tropicania ,we really enjoyed ourselves and most of there resturants was great. thanks tropicania for the 25.00 food coupons /free buffets ,we received 2 each and also the cash back offers,, we walked the boardwalk and visited other casinos and played and thay said we would also get cash back offers and free buffets , we r going again in May, and hopefully we have received offers as thay promised . we know Tropicania will.”

“we did a bus trip , a 4 day ,3 night stay. thay gave it to us when we got there by a hostess. he got 2 tickets and so did I and thay gave us 40 free play.we went and played at ballys and thay said if we played for 30 minutes we would receive in mail food coupons, room offers and free play up to 100. within 3 months. when we went to resorts thay gave us 25 free play when we got are new cards... after not being at the casinos for over a year its best to get new cards , it was over 2 years or more since we got there til just this month , going back in MAY. TRIP is suppose to have free show tickets to, but when we went this month there wasn't any shows..Taj Mahal is one of our favorites of all.. there rooms are great and so isn't there buffets. and one thing I like better that Taj has is a regular 4 cup coffee pot , as for Tropicania thay only have a pot that gives u 1 cup at a time.”

“and another thing we didn't like is ,,in past and just this month Taj Mahal and tropicania messed up on our rooms , We both our smokers and for some reason we end up in NON-SMOKEING and we pacificaly state that we smoke . this was r first time at Tropicania though but in past at Taj it was like 3 times thay did it. In may when we go I hope thay got it right this time. LOL”

“Played and stayed at the Atlantic Club in February 2013 . Had alot of fun and the slot machines were working well, bonus rounds came up every so often. Went back in March and it was like some one threw a switch . Same slot machines were now money suckers. Bonus rounds never appeared . There were very few people getting any decent hits. Funny thing is the Atlantic Club's profits jumped by 37% for March. Is it more than just a coincidence ?”

“Hello, signed up for showboat total rewards gold last night while staying off the boardwalk. I played for a while and had a great time. I kind of felt left out . Although my boyfriend played blackjack 2hours (And won) I had to buy our drinks. It was kind of sad. We left and went to Revel and had a great time scoping the sights although did not play, felt more comfortable at your casino. Too bad your workers aren't trying to look out for their own.

“Love that Revel is a healthier happier choice as a smokefree resort. Hope that this does NOT change or we will CHANGE to go back to Delaware and maryland casinos that are 100% smokefree, same as NY. Good luck to Revel, we hope you make the right choice and you will keep it healthier and safer and happier, for our lungs.”
