You’ve lived through the end-of-the-world scare and Hurricane Sandy (which for many may somehow seem linked), so now is the time to celebrate like there’s comfort in knowing there will be a tomorrow.

No East Coast town does New Year’s Eve better than Atlantic City and its environs (yes, New York City, that includes you), so here are a few suggestions for those who have not yet gotten around to planning out their big night. You’re the same ones who should probably make “stop procrastinating” one of your New Year’s resolutions.

In the Casinos

Once again, there are numerous NYE options inside the Tropicana. At Boogie Nights, renowned ’70s pop group the Village People will be the life of the party. General admission tickets are $40 and the fun starts 9:30pm, including a midnight champagne toast. VIP booths and bottle service are available starting at $400 for up to eight guests.

At Providence, general admission to the annual A.C. Ball Drop party is $100, including a five-hour premium open bar (9:30pm-2:30am), two hours of hors d’oeuvres, a champagne toast at midnight, large projection screens and flat panels in every room broadcasting live from Time Square, midnight confetti and two DJs spinning until 4am.

At Anthem, doors open 9pm and the party is $45 per person through Dec. 27 (subject to change thereafter, since space is limited). Bottle service packages are available. Admission includes a one-hour open bar (10-11pm), complimentary party favors and champagne at midnight, viewing of the ball drop from a 360-degree ring screen, and “outrageous” entertainment hosted by DJs Luap, B Easy and D Sharp.

At Cuba Libre there will be three seatings for a five-course pre-fixe (9, 9:30 and 10pm) menu, followed by a DJ, dancing, its famed Late Night Latin Floorshow and entertainment for $115 per person.

Tango’s will have resident DJ Ralph spinning from 7:30pm-2:40am. Admission is $15 after 9pm (free beforehand).

Ri Ra Irish Pub will have the band Eleven Eleven take the stage at 11pm. You can also ring in 2013 at the Comedy Stop Café where, for $60, you get three headline comics, party favors, a rose for each lady and a split of champagne. There are also a number of overnight NYE room packages available at the Trop.

The Pro Bar at Resorts will host a musical performance by pop singer/songwriter Sir Ari Gold, who will also be the special-guest DJ for the night. A $75 cover includes a two-hour open bar (9-11pm). Booth and table service are available. Also, the Top-40 cover band Route 9 will perform free on Resorts’ casino floor, and Grand Funk Railroad (see p. 8) rumbles into the Superstar Theater for a party starting 10:30pm at $60 per person, which includes a midnight champagne toast.

The Golden Nugget’s NYE Gala at The Grand is $140 per person and includes cocktails, dinner, entertainment and dancing. The Live Bar at the Nugget will also be rocking with the band Seven Stone. Doors open at 9pm and admission is $20, including two complimentary drink tickets and a champagne toast at midnight. A free party will be taking place in the Main Atrium with live entertainment starting at 6pm.

The Foundation Room at Showboat’s House of Blues is billing itself as the “official after-party site for Jane’s Addiction,” which headlines NYE at the HOB Music Hall. Party packages range from $50 to $400 (the latter including private “prayer room” accomodations), a two-hour open bar (9-11pm), party favors and a champagne toast and midnight countdown. Entertainment will be provided by KISS 99.3 FM’s DJ Jason E.

Mixx and mur.mur nightclubs in the Borgata each have parties starting at 9pm for a $50 base admission. Mixx will feature Rev. Run and DJ Ruckus, and mur.mur will have DJ Spider and a special performance by Swedish singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Andreas Moe. The Gypsy Bar will have live music by the Benderz at 7pm and Gypsy Wisdom at 11pm. The cover charge is $25 after 6pm.

The Taj Mahal’s Casbah nightclub is hosting its Lucky 13 party on NYE. Admission is $20.13 and includes a champagne toast and DJ entertainment, 13 flavors of vodka, 13 prizes awarded after midnight, and free admission to every 13th person in line. Also at the Taj, the Fantasy Voyage Arena Party starts 9:30pm in the Mark G. Etess Arena. The $139 per person cover includes an open bar, dinner, dancing and live music with the Steve Delisi Orchestra. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.

Caesars Entertainment has several options available, including the Dusk NYE party at Caesars offering a three-hour open bar (9:30pm-12:30am) for a $75 admission ($20 after 12:30). The Toga Bar at Caesars will be rockin’ from 9pm-3am with music by DJ Patrice McBride and the Toga Dancers. Admission is free; bottle service starts at $300 per table. The Pool After Dark at Harrah’s “Wet ‘n’ Wild” party will feature a two-hour set by DJ Pauly D, an open bar from 9-11pm, with tickets starting at $50. Eden Lounge and the X Bar both have DJ-staffed parties going on at Harrah’s with bottle service starting at $200, and the Mountain Bar and Blue Martini each has a party going on from 9pm-3am at Bally’s with no cover charge.

Nearly every Revel occupant has something going on for NYE, including a “restore from the night before” hangover therapy treatment at Bask spa on Jan. 1, and plenty of pre-fixe dining offers at its numerous restaurants. Entertainment-wise, Amada has live flamenco dancing during the last of its three dinner seatings (10:30pm), and Ivan Kane’s Royal Jelly burlesque nightclub will host a scintillating $150-per-head ($25 after midnight) party with an open bar from 9-11pm. HQ nightclub’s NYE party will be hosted by DJ Bambi and is $125 per person starting 9pm. Tiësto, who will spin at Ovation Hall earlier in the night, will host an after-hours party at HQ following Bambi’s set. Mussel Bar will feature the Celt-rock sounds of Flip-n-Mickeys starting 10pm and a Belgian beer toast at midnight. One will host a party with passed hors d’oeuvres and an open premium bar. Distrito Cantina will have beer specials from $2 starting at 4pm, increasing 50 cents each hour until returning to normal price at midnight.

Pianist extraordinaire Bud Noble will perform at Ono restaurant at the Atlantic Club Casino from 9pm-1am. There will be no cover charge or reservations required, and a cash bar will be available.
