The mega-resort has world-class resident DJs booked and the backing of entertainment industry giants AMG and EMM in the anticipated opening of HQ Nightclub July 6.

Revel’s announcement in early 2012 that it would be partnering with Angel Management Group (AMG) served as strong proof that it was taking a serious stance toward its nightlife and entertainment options.
This was still several weeks away from the property’s soft opening in April, but rather than handling in-house an increasingly important element like entertainment in a tourist town, it entered into an agreement with undoubtedly the biggest name in the Las Vegas nightlife market.
More recently, AMG reinforced Revel’s pledge to top-shelf entertainment with a bold move of its own, partnering with New York City potentate EMM Group to help ensure that Revel’s entertainment slate is second to none, and not just in Atlantic City.
The EMM Group, under the direction of friends and co-founders Mark Birnbaum and Eugene Remm, is well connected on the East Coast entertainment-wise, and is embarking on its first large-scale project with AMG at Revel.
“[AMG] shares many of the same strengths, outlook and operational philosophies that we do, but they also bring experience from Las Vegas market, which will be key to the success of running these properties,” says Remm, who started EMM Group in 2006 with Birnbaum and business entrepreneur Michael Hirtenstein, together building it into one of NYC’s most successful and multi-faceted hospitality management companies.
“Revel is the first of what we expect will be many collaborations with EMM Group in the coming years, both here and abroad,” says Neil Moffitt, CEO of Angel Management.
“EMM Group has the understanding and knowledge of the market that will bring the New York City vibe and clientele to Atlantic City. We’re excited to work with them to deliver innovative offerings to the Northeast, and look forward to a lasting and impactful partnership.”
Since the collaboration began, the two groups have already inked some of the biggest names in nightclub entertainment to Revel’s recently announced July 6-8 preview of HQ Nightclub — the four-level, 40,000-square-foot venue that complements its 45,000-square-foot “day-life” contemporary HQ Beach Club (which has yet to be given an opening date).
Among them is artist A-Trak, a Montreal-born and New York City-based DJ scheduled for four Revel dates, and touted as one of the most sought-after electronic remixers globally. Another is Chromeo, the Canadian-born duo P-Thugg (Patrick Gemayel) on keyboards, synthesizers and talk box, and Dave 1 (David Macklovitch) on guitar and lead vocals. The pair’s sound has been labeled “electro-funk” and they have made chart-topping hits like “Hot Mess,” “When the Night Falls,” “I’m Not Contagious” and “Night By Night” from three CDs.
Others include acclaimed house music specialist Cedric Gervais, a regular headliner at clubs in South Beach, Florida, and Grammy award-winning remixer/producer Roger Sanchez, who is among the world’s foremost names in house music and has an online radio show called Release Yourself that reaches over 15 million listeners worldwide.
As the weather starts to warm up, so will the lineup for weekly entertainment nightlife at Revel’s award-winning The Social this spring.

With the Atlantic Ocean as its backdrop, the 45,000 square-foot beach club, located on the boardwalk level of the resort, will feature multiple levels and will draw its inspiration from the island of Mykonos for its lavish décor.

With a stellar lineup slated for this weekend, Nov. 9-11, the club, in collaboration with associates Angel Management Group, the EMM Group and Revel, will be utilizing the performances from all three nights, and the revenue they generate, as an opportunity to reach out to a local community in dire need.
Revel, the glittering jewel at the north end of the Atlantic City Boardwalk, has had a rough beginning on the gaming side of the ledger since it opened in late spring. However, on the entertainment side, it has delivered positive vibrations and national headlines.
Atlantic City’s newest casino may have ranked eighth out of the 12 in terms of gaming revenue in May and June, but gaming was from the start only part of the total package the property proposed to bring to an Atlantic City entertainment environment yearning to become more diversified.
Probably in the same way a casino revue show casting legends of the past can still fill showroom seats nearly 30 years after it debuted, and retro nightclubs with ’70s and ’80s themes have been outdrawing many of their contemporary counterparts, FakeFest remains a super-popular, three-day summertime musical event 12 years after it started.
Amazingly, Atlantic City’s golden age of dining just keeps getting better.
“When I look at Atlantic City, maybe I just see something different,” says DeSanctis. “What I see, when you go out on our Sky Garden or you go out on our deck, that’s sort of the Atlantic City that I think about. We have this incredible geographic location. We have 47 million people within a six-hour drive of this place, and when we think about options from a resort perspective in the Northeast, there really aren’t any. "
To usher in the historic first day for Revel, the property has booked the band The Raveonettes to perform a free show at 9pm at The Social, located near Revel's imaginative casino floor.
Wiedmaier’s room won’t be the only place to grab a steak at Revel. Chef Marc Forgione, one of Revel’s two TV Food Network “Iron Chefs” (Philly-based Jose Garces is the other) will be opening American Cut, which he described as his spin on a “classic steakhouse.”
Back in January 2009, Revel Entertainment felt the recession crunch and was forced to lay off part of its construction crew, halting progress on the interior of its nearly $2 billion north-end Boardwalk casino project and limiting progress to the building’s exterior alone.
In A.C. alone, acts and personalities such as Kim Kardashian, Garbage, ZZ Top, Gretchen Wilson, Steve Winwood, Pitbull, Afrojack and others appeared. Stats from the weekend tell of a busy weekend throughout the resort.
Realtors preach the virtues of location as the top selling point for prospective buyers, and the same quality could cross over to business success. Place a business in a desirable location and you’ll get patrons, but keeping them coming back means offering a quality product and fresh incentives.
