Mardi Gras arrives a little early at Golden Nugget, as its inaugural Masquerade Bash features sensational foursome Seven Stone on Saturday night, Feb. 18.

ATLANTIC CITY — The diversity that defines Landry’s Restaurants is not limited to its long list of properties, which range from fun family establishments like the Rainforest Café and the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. to high-end dining like Chart House seafood and Vic & Anthony’s steakhouse.
It also translates to a slate of entertaining events the Golden Nugget parent company hosts annually, like the one this Saturday night (Feb. 18) at Golden Nugget’s LIVE bar harkening the arrival of Mardi Gras (Tues., Feb. 21). Called the Masquerade Bash, the shindig starts 8pm and includes live music by popular rockers Seven Stone, DJ Michael James [of WZXL 100.7 FM], and drink specials by event sponsor Patron.
“The biggest part to the whole [company] perception is that we’re not afraid to try anything,” says Kevin Scull, food and beverage director of the A.C. Golden Nugget. “Last year the Golden Nugget in Vegas hosted a Masquerade Bash and it was so successful that we decided to coordinate our first here when they were doing their second. It’s sort of an effort to bring Mardi Gras to Atlantic City.”
Guests can wear their own colorful Mardi Gras masks or they’ll be available at the party.
“It’s a casual event,” says Skull. “It’s one of several themed events we have planned throughout the hotel and throughout the year, and it’s going to be a lot of fun. Seven Stone just did such a phenomenal job when they were here last [on Jan. 21 for the LIVE Bar re-branding party] that we had to bring them back.”
Seven Stone is a foursome of veteran rockers and regulars at The Deck at Golden Nugget (its premier outdoor party venue) for the last five summers, and frequently perform at city hot spots like the Trump Plaza Beach Bar, the Taj’s Ego Lounge, RiRa Irish Pub at the Trop and Bally’s Blue Martini.
With a long table lined with countless drinks, epic introduction music and the scent of sugary sweetness creeping throughout the casino floor, Fat Tuesday truly lived up to its name at the Big Easy on the Boardwalk.
Fabulous Thunderbirds with Kim Wilson perform July 11 for free in the summer Monday night music series at Kennedy Plaza.
An eclectic mix of performers is scheduled to appear at Golden Nugget’s newly remodeled showroom in March and April.
Some of the qualities that allowed Tilman Fertitta to reach the apex of the business world, and transform Landry’s Restaurants Inc. into a conglomerate worth nearly $4 billion, he seems to carry around like a set of car keys.
Golden Nugget may be new in town … er, make that new BACK in town, but the acclaimed casino brand name knows that the fall is no time to slow down when it comes to fun at the shore.
There’s a new player in Atlantic City as the Golden Nugget officially took over operations of the former Trump Marina Tuesday, promising a $100 to $150 million renovation of the aging, and frankly, somewhat boring casino.
Atlantic City Bar & Grill, has from the outset — dating back to near the dawn of the first A.C. casino, Resorts, which is about a block away — honed a reputation as a gathering place that sees a pretty constant stream of clientele no matter what time of day or night.
