The beach bars reopen Memorial Day weekend with, of course, Revel’s HQ Beach Bar and Margaritaville’s LandShark Bar & Grill taking center stage as the latest additions east of the Boardwalk.

In a perfect world, if the casinos had their way, the year would always end on a Friday or Saturday. It would never end on a Monday, as it does this year.
“What we’re seeing right now [in A.C.] is Revel and Borgata going head-to-head with these big-name house DJs. They have become celebrities who get anywhere from $20,000 upwards of $200,000 per night for a couple of hours, and most of the time they’ll sell out these arenas or nightclubs. ... Sixers revive Boardwalk Classic game from 1982 and 1983 with a match vs. the Brooklyn Nets Oct. 13 in Atlantic City at Boardwalk Hall.
“I was interviewed recently [in another market] and the reporter asked me where was my favorite place to play, and I immediately said Atlantic City,” Orlando says.

“With a lot of positive emotion in my heart, I read online in A.C. Weekly, my home some years ago when it was known as The Whoot, that my old friend, Carmen Marotta is keeping the historic name of Tony Marts alive and well, I had my first legal drink there many years ago, in 1971 when I turned 21. I had the distinct pleasure of being personal friends with the entire Marotta family and I will always have a very deep love for all of the Marotta family but thank God a man named Tony Marotta made Somers Point his home and brought all of we South Jersey natives the best damn rock night club there ever was in the history of South Jersey. My family willl always love Tony, his wife and the entire family...I now live in Central Florida and I will never forget my experiences with my late wife, Cookie at the Marotta homestead and at the club right across the street.
