This Thursday, Sept. 23, the historic Absecon Lighthouse of Atlantic City will host its signature fundraising event of the year called Luscious Libations. The event will take place at Steve & Cookies by the Bay in Margate (9700 Amherst Ave.) from 6-8pm.

For a tax-deductible donation of $60, guests will receive passed hors d’oeuvres, vodka samplings from two different distributors, a silent auction, and the Shaken Not Stirred Players performing Broadway show tunes to an accompanying pianist.

“Proceeds from all of our fundraising events benefit the education programs we offer at Absecon Lighthouse, including our school-tour program, summer Wacky Wednesday series, and winter Kids Light Up the Arts series,” says Absecon Lighthouse executive director Jean Muchanic. “This is our annual signature special event in addition to the many other events we offer year-round.”

To purchase tickets, e-mail jean@abseconlighthouse.org or call 499-1360. The lighthouse is located 31 S. Rhode Island Ave. in A.C., and is open Thursday through Monday from 11am-4pm (closed Tuesday and Wednesday, and on major holidays). It is $7 for adults to climb the lighthouse’s 228 steps, and $4 for children ages 4-12 (free for children under age 4).
