The votes have been counted. See who won this year’s Reader’s Choice Nightlife Awards.
A few repeats from last year. A few newbies (congrats!), a few surprises and a lot of exceptional area nightlife spots honored.
A hearty congratulations to this year’s Reader’s Choice Nightlife Awards winners. The people have spoken and you’ve been selected as “the best” of whatever it is that you help to do in order to make the Atlantic City region one of the top nightlife destinations on the East Coast.
In its second year of existence this contest not only garnered more votes on our Web site than it did last year, but more votes than we ever imagined we’d get. Thanks to all of our readers and nightlife lovers who voted online at acweekly.com; we hope to see you at the party. (Look out for pictures in next week’s issue!)
The winners of this year’s coveted NLA’s (what we’ve dubbed them here at the AC Weekly offices) will be celebrated at a VIP party Thursday night (Jan. 21), 8pm, at Boogie Nights at Resorts. The third annual ‘Devil in the Dark’ endurance race is not just for motorheads, as there will be a battle of the bands contest, beers, bull riding and big-time fun for all.
Lately St. George’s has also bolstered its entertainment slate. Currently a revolving list of the area’s top local entertainers performs in the main bar area every Friday night, starting with mellow classics around 6pm that blend well with the dinner crowd, then morphing into a more nightlife-ish feel later in the evening.
Like the nightlife? It's time for you to cast your votes in the fourth annual AC Weekly Reader's Choice Nightlife Awards, celebrating the Atlantic City region's extraordinary nightlife industry, including best dance club, best bartenders, best local entertainers, after-hours clubs, neighborhood bars, places to spot a celebrity and much more.
Casino executives, representatives, friends, colleagues, family and others within the sphere of the Atlantic City region's vibrant nightlife scene flocked to the Boardwalk in droves, dressed to the nines, and ready to party at Boogie Nights and celebrate the area's dynamic and unique nightlife spots, performers, DJs, bartenders, and other assets of the Atlantic City region's nightlife impressive scene.
When Atlantic City rang in the new millennium in 2000, partiers looking for some action in the resort faced a little bit of a challenge — kind of a nightlife scavenger hunt. They knew there were parties going on. The question was where?
There’s been plenty of talk about Atlantic City’s need to “reinvent itself” in the wake of a slumped economy and gaming competition elsewhere. That contention could almost come across as insulting to A.C. where nightlife applies, as the city has always provided an ever-evolving inventory of exciting after-dark alternatives for a diversity of ages and tastes.
The votes have been tallied for the 3rd annual ACWeekly.com Reader’s Choice Nightlife Awards. On this page you will find the winners, with a handful of honorable mentions in cases when the votes were so close that we needed to give props to some of the respective venues that were voted for.

“Who decides these awards? The Pool for Best Wine list? This club holds more people in one weekend than everyone else combined! I am not taking anything away from other clubs, I just think Best Wine List is not the award the POOL should be winning.”

“I think Casbah Nightclub is still one of the best DANCE CLUBS in the city...it has the best big room nightclub setup, the best DJs and the best sound and lights hands down!
The POOL is not a Dance Club, its a beautiful entertainment facility, one of the best on the east coast...and it should be in a catagory of its own.”

“What a joke, boogie nights!? Really!? What happened to best promoter category? The old folks still around in the casino marketing departments and at acweekly need to retire and make way for new blood because these awards is a pure example of the cronyism in this city and a bunch of people who just don't get it!”
