The Atlantic City Boardwalk Rodeo will saddle up and ride into town arriving at Boardwalk Hall Friday and Saturday April 1-2 at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 3, at 1pm. The event is a PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association) sanctioned event.

For over 60 years, Barnes PRCA Rodeo Company has been going down the rodeo trail and will bring the biggest rodeo to the East Coast in the past 70 plus years when their livestock arrives for the first time in Atlantic City.

This event is a direct result of Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo Langford’s Strategic Planning Committee led by Dennis C. Gomes, Special Events Committee Chairperson and Owner, President & C.E.O. of Resorts Casino Hotel, and is presented by Atlantic City Hilton, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Caesars Entertainment, Resorts Casino Hotel, Tropicana Casino & Resort and Trump Entertainment.

“It’s amazing to see all the hard work of Atlantic City’s Special Events Task Force come together for an event that will be a first in Atlantic City,” said Langford. “The Rodeo promises to bring a fresh, new event to the city continuing to broaden our appeal among new audiences.”

“This three-day event will bring thousands of vendors, competitors and fans into Atlantic City, and we will have the opportunity to showcase all of the city’s unique and stellar attributes,” said Gomes. “The rodeo is a real coup for Atlantic City, and a relationship that we hope will continue into the future.

In over 2 ½ hours of non-stop rodeo action, fans will witness all the events of the rodeo scene. From the thrilling bareback, tie down and team roping events, to the electrifying saddle bronc, steer wrestling, barrel racing and bull riding events, the action takes place from one end of the arena to the other. The prize purse is $56,000.

Tickets went on sale this week and are priced at $16, $31, $51 and $102. Family four-packs are available for $79 and include four $31 tickets; four hot dogs and four soft drinks. There is a $5 discount on $31 and $51 seats for groups of 10 or more. For group sales, call 609-348-7021. Tickets can be purchased at the Boardwalk Hall Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations by calling 800-736-1420 or at ticketmaster.com.

Oak Ridge Boys at Caesars
By David J. Spatz

YOU COULD HEAR THE SURPRISE in Richard Sterban’s voice as he repeated the words slowly and carefully, as if trying to make sure he’d heard correctly. “You say there’s going to be a rodeo on the Boardwalk?” Sterban asked in almost incredulous tones. Sterban, the owner and operator of one of the deepest bass voices in the history of recorded music, had every reason to express a sense of disbelief. He’s been a member of the best-selling country music group the Oak Ridge Boys for nigh on 40 years. But Sterban, who grew up in Camden County, still has enough southern New Jersey blood to know the words “Boardwalk” and “rodeo” are...

Game On! in The Pier Shops at Caesars has had a mechanical bull ever since the sports bar’s arrival in A.C. in 2006, which is an asset even its flagship site in Boston is unable to boast. The other bull shot onto the A.C. scene early last month (around July 4 weekend) at Caesars’ sister property, Bally’s, which brought one in as part of its $1.5 million Wild Wild West casino upgrade.
