Those chosen will shoot a pilot episode this spring
Resorts Casino Hotel will host the final casting calls for a new LGBT reality series, produced by Under The Boardwalk Productions, at Boogie Nights on Friday, March 18, beginning at 4pm. Anyone from the LGBT community can show up to audition, but be aware that the auditions will likely run from 4-10pm.
The show will be produced by Kate Siegel and Laura Bennett, and directed by Emmy-nominated director Kim Friedman. The group stresses that they are not looking to be the LGBT version of Jersey Shore. They are focusing on finding new and original LGBT reality stars, characters that have never before been seen on television. “We envision it to be a very sophisticated show; with each character having a unique and fresh take on the world; with the fact that they are LGBT providing the community and context,” says Friedman.
The lucky few chosen will shoot a pilot episode in the early spring, then if the show is picked up, the LGBT cast will live in a beach house this summer in one of the South Jersey beach communities.
Kim Friedman is an Emmy-nominated director of prime time TV, including Beverly Hills 90210, Star Trek Voyager, Star Trek Deep Space Nine, LA Law, Hometown, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, In the House, Square Pegs, Sparks, and, Lizzie McGuire. Kim is also a distinguished theater director, having won an Obie in New York and two Los Angeles Drama Critics Awards.
The Greater Atlantic City GLBT Alliance, the organization will launch a new Web site on Thursday, Oct. 1.
Sometimes, recessions can present unexpected opportunities. For members of the Atlantic City region's gay and lesbian community, what might be called a civil rights struggle, an attempt to form a real community or even just an effort to create some kind of gay social life in the area, also has one other good thing going for it.

“If we went to the casting at Woody's in Philly - should we go to this casting as well? When would we know if we have a call back or not???
I'm dying to be on this show!”

“I am interested in auditioning. I live on an island so I definitely would bring a different culture and flavor to the show. I have a career but looking to make changes and everyone thinks I would do good in the media industry.”
