Bernie and Ges.
Dark Fall Productions, the local film production company developed by Margate resident, Alex DePhillipo, is getting ready to unleash another project.
As a follow-up to his award-winning surfing move Dark Fall, which debuted at the House of Blues in 2010, DePhillipo is premiering his new project Bernie and Ges on August 25, again at the House of Blues in Atlantic City. Tickets are $32, available from Ticketmaster. The doors open at 8pm.
After the premiere of Bernie and Ges, there will be a live performance by T.S.O.L. There will also be an after party at the Worship Surf Bar at Showboat.
Bernie and Ges is the first episode of an animated internet/TV series that features local surfer and writer/producer, Andrew Gesler, and his talking dog, Bernie, who have to save the Jersey shore from a guido zombie invasion.
Local animator Drew Toonz, who does a weekly editorial cartoon for Atlantic City Weekly, will do the animation, and local actor Michael Anthony will provide the voice of Bernie. Anthony has had roles in Limitless, The Challenger, and Never Judge a Book.
The project will start touring to various film festivals starting September 1, and TV distribution talks have been in the works.
