One of the best parts about the American Idols Tour is seeing how the performers have improved thanks to their experience of touring. Being able to relax and sing while being adored rather than judged is a major theme when the performers talk about the experience.

And that’s just the way it appeared Saturday night at Boardwalk Hall as the Top 11 finalists wore their fancy costumes and showed off their impressive skills minus the terror of elimination.

I’ve said it before but this time is really does apply: this group of Idols has the best overall talent level in the history of the show. Some are obviously stronger than others but there are no stiffs in the bunch. And the diversity of their talent, from country to hard rock to jazz and R&B makes for a night that never has any lulls.

The Idols kick off the show with the ladies going Gaga with “Born This Way.” Next up it was pop diva Pia Toscano showing off her chops with “Empire State of Mind.” The energy level picked up when Stefano Langone joined her for a power pop duet of Rihanna’s “California King Bed.”
