The fun is divided between two weekends this year
Kanye West: July 6-7, Revel.
July 4th is on a Wednesday this year, which is usually a good thing for resort businesses. It means that some Jersey shore visitors will celebrate the holiday the weekend before the holiday and some will celebrate the weekend after the holiday, which equates to more business for everyone … at least that is the theory.
It certainly looks like Atlantic City casinos are taking advantage of the two-holiday weekend theory. Caesars for example is welcoming Mary J. Blige at Caesars on June 29-30 and July 3-4, while Jamie Foxx dominates the following weekend with his Foxxhole Comedy Jam July 5-6 as well as a live broadcast of his radio show those same days and hosting a party at Harrah’s Pool After Dark on July 6 after his gig at Caesars.
Borgata hits the first weekend with The Jacksons Unity Tour June 29, plus Crosby, Stills and Nash June 30, Tracy Morgan June 30 and Styx with REO Speedwagon and Ted Nugent July 1. The following weekend its Bob Sager July 6, James Taylor July 6-7, Billy Gardell July 7 and Sarah McLachlan July 8.
The House of Blues is banking on the post-July 4th weekend with the Disco Biscuits July 6 and Papa Roach July 7. Revel made its major music announcement with Kanye West coming to the casino July 6-7 for two shows that sold out in minutes.
The Tropicana is going with comedy as Dom Irrera headlines June 30 and Cedric the Entertainer visits with some of his comedy “Friends” on July 7.

In a perfect world, if the casinos had their way, the year would always end on a Friday or Saturday. It would never end on a Monday, as it does this year.
'The place was packed with people; some people who had gone to the concert, some people who had just been in the bar, and it was just one of those kinds of special, fun party, and music rock and roll nights.'
