Sarah Silverman's comedy is shocking, harsh, inappropriate and hilarious. With fresh-faced good looks and innocent, doe-like eyes, Silverman manages to tear through controversial topics such as racism, sexuality, AIDS, bestiality, abortion and the Holocaust, successfully mocking stereotypes and bigotry along the way. She accomplishes this via her comedic persona, a Jewish American Princess who, as she described to David Letterman, is an "earnest, ignorant, arrogant asshole." Oh, and she loves to talk about poop.

The year 2007 is proving to be a very big one for Silverman. Personally, she is celebrating five years with her boyfriend, talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, though she says they will never marry until gays are allowed the same privilege. Professionally, her hit show, The Sarah Silverman Program has just begun its second season on Comedy Central, she made the cover of Maxim magazine's Hot 100 issue (coming in at #29), hosted the MTV Movie Awards, and her monologue following Britney Spears' performance at the MTV VMAs sent jaws crashing to the ground (see sidebar).

Recently, Silverman took some time to answer some of our questions (via e-mail), prior to her upcoming gigs at the Borgata this Saturday night.

What are you wearing?

Jeans and a grey T-shirt. Not very exciting. Though my boobs look incredible in it.

We're looking forward to you coming to Atlantic City. What can we expect from your show?

Very cerebral jokes about poopie.

Have you performed here before?

No! Never! I'm very excited. The last time I was in Atlantic City I was 19 and causing a lot of no good.

Do you gamble?

Yes. Though my preference is poker with friends. But I'll play blackjack for sure.

I own a karaoke bar at Tropicana called Planet Rose. Do you ever sing karaoke?

Jimmy and I sing "Cruisin'."

Please come by and sing something. What would you sing?

I'm thinking I would give "Hungry Heart" a spin ...

I've read that you don't drink alcohol. Do you have any bad habits?

Sarah Silverman: No Apologies

Even if Silverman does cross the line in an offensive way, she refuses to apologize. That was never more apparent more than a decade ago, when she came under fire for using a slang term for Asians on a late-night television show.
