Vineyard Golf Course at Renault Winery — a 7,200-yard, championship-caliber golf course in Egg Harbor City — will host the Atlantic City Playboy Golf Scramble for the third straight year on Monday, June 14.
The event is part of a series of Playboy Golf scrambles that take place annually, offering contestants the chance to reach the National Playboy Golf Scramble Championship in Southern California in October. The championship will be capped by a party at the famed Playboy Mansion that promises to be “a memorable life experience for any golfer.”
“The Playboy Golf Scramble is a truly unique event that gives golfers in Atlantic City the opportunity to experience some of the excitement and fun that comes along with the Playboy brand,” says Brigantine resident Gary Shea, regional sales manager for Playboy Golf.
The scramble is comprised of four-person teams competing against one another. Golfing will be preceded by a VIP players party at the Hard Rock Café, located at Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, and followed by an awards party/dinner at Renault Gourmet Restaurant at the winery (72 North Breman Ave. in EHC). The players party will start 9pm Sunday, June 13, at Ego Lounge, and the awards banquet/dinner will start around 6pm Monday, June 14, at the winery following the tournament.
The Taj Mahal is one of the scramble’s primary sponsors, and its Ego Lounge is again hosting a series of casting calls for the Girls of Playboy Golf. Hosting the casting calls is a past Girls of Playboy Golf member (and current “Roller Girl” at Resorts’ Boogie Nights) Helene Vaspoli. The final casting call will take place Saturday, May 22, at the Casbah Nightclub at the Taj at 10pm. Those girls selected will assist in running the scramble, and two girls from each of the cities hosting an event will be invited to the scramble championship in California in October.
Shea says that while the Playboy Golf Scramble is not specifically a charity event, Playboy Golf has always been strongly committed to work with local charities. Proceeds raised through auctions and raffles at the scrambles benefit several national charity organizations.
The A.C. Playboy Golf Scramble registration is 11:30am Monday, June 14, at the Vineyards Golf Course. There will be a 1pm shotgun start. The cost for the pre-party, scramble and post-party is $400 per person.
