Jamie Foxx fronts triple treats with live Foxxhole broadcasts, comedy stage show and pool party
Jamie Foxx must have enjoyed his stay in Atlantic City last July 4 when he presented his Foxxhole Comedy Jam at Caesars, performed a music set at the House of Blues and showed up at several parties.
He is back for more holiday fun this week.
Foxx presents his Foxxhole Comedy Jam Thursday and Friday (July 5 & 6) at Caesars at 8:30pm and during the day he is presenting his Sirius XM Foxxhole Radio broadcast live in Caesars Palladium Ballroom, and a Celebrity All White Gala at the Pool After Dark at Harrah’s on Friday, July 6.
The Foxxhole broadcasts take place Thursday, July 5, 3-5pm with Billy Sorrells, Luenell, Gary Owen and Bill Bellamy and Friday, July 6, 11am–1pm with the Dr. Mitch Show, 2–2:30pm, with Bossip, and 3–5pm, Foxxhole Radio with Jamie Foxx, Lavell Crawford and Donell Rawlings.
These broadcasts are free and open to the public.
After his performance as host of the Foxxhole Comedy Show at Caesars on Friday, Foxx will travel over to Harrah’s Pool After Dark to host the Celebrity All-White Gala (doors open at 10pm), featuring music by Funkmaster Flex of Hot 97 radio in New York City and the hit MTV show Funk Flex Full Throttle, joined by Castl and Manik. Tickets for the party are $30.
Foxx bragged about his Foxxhole co-stars in an interview last year with Atlantic City Weekly.
“I have a group of the funniest comedians in the world. I’m going to host it and keep it moving along, but the comedians are absolutely fantastic. Come out and get your laugh on; if you’re just feeling okay, we’ll make you feel great.”
Foxx loves to take advantage of any opportunity to party.
“It’s going to be party time the minute we fly off to get there. We are going to be partying the whole time. It’s July 4th; we have to bring that edge.”
Last year Foxx arrived in town with the movie Horrible Bosses due out. He only had a cameo role in that movie, but this summer the anticipation is already building for his starring role in Quentin Tarantino’s pre-Civil War spaghetti western Django Unchained, due for release on Dec. 25.
The film is about a former slave (Foxx in the title role) who is a bounty hunter, looking for his former wife. The Oscar-winning Foxx is joined by fellow Oscar winner Christoph Waltz as his bounty-hunting mentor, Kerry Washington as his wife, and Leonardo DiCaprio as a villainous plantation owner.
The spectacular cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Bruce Dern, Don Johnson and Jonah Hill. When the film’s preliminary trailer hit the Internet a few weeks back, it generated a ton of buzz. That buzz will only increase when exclusive footage of the film is previewed at Comic Con in San Diego July 14.
As for his film career, Foxx is grateful for the success that followed when he earned the Academy Award for best actor in 2004 playing Ray Charles in Ray.
“It was fantastic. It opened a lot of doors for me and those doors are still wide open. You try to walk a fine line, keeping a balance. Keeping your integrity as far as the movies are concerned, but also remembering that what got you there was being funny, so that your fans don’t think that you’ve left them. Some people win an Oscar and they start speaking in an English accent.”
Foxx will be bringing his comedy side to town this week, and look for another game-changing acting role at Christmas in Django Unchained.

Born Eric Marlon Bishop, Jamie Foxx had his first success as a stand-up comedian and co-star on the hit sketch comedy series In Living Color (1991-1994) and later his own sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show (1996-2001). He made his big-screen debut with small roles in The Truth About Cats and Dogs and The Great White Hype both in 1996.
