Maureen Siman
The Greater Atlantic City Chamber (GACC) has chosen Maureen Siman, vice president of marketing for the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority (ACCVA), as the 2010 Business Woman of the Year. She will receive her award at the 42nd annual Business Man and Business Woman of the Year commemoration on Wednesday, April 28, at the Trump Taj Mahal's Tiara Ballroom along with Ray Kot, who has been posthumously named the GACC's 2010 Man of the Year.
Siman has led ACCVA’s media relations, E-marketing, graphic services, marketing partnership, and tourism marketing divisions since 2006. She is an active board member of Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) and sits on the AtlantiCare Foundation Board and the board of the National Council Destination Organizations.
According to a media release by the ACCVA, Siman said she was “not only humbled to be recognized by the Chamber, but honored at the privilege of being mentioned among the great community leaders who have received this award in the past. However, the real hero and the ones who deserve the most recognition are Ray Kot and his family.”
The Business Man of the Year award will be given to the family of Ray Kot in memoriam. Kot was a devoted Trump Entertainment Resorts employee until his death in 2009, working at Trump Taj Mahal since it opened in 1990.
Selections for the Business Man and Business Woman of the Year award are based on the candidate’s business accomplishments, length of time in business and quality of product or service. Additional criteria include the candidate’s contributions to the Atlantic City region business environment, and the candidate’s community activities and civic involvement.
