A Solid Snack Before the ‘Hunger Games’ finale

Whenever a movie is saddled with “Part 1” in the title you can bet it contains a lot of set-up material and is probably unlikely to provide a satisfying ending. And, while The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 does come saddled with those expected restrictions, it delivers a decent preview of the big finish coming in the final chapter, thanks mostly to Jennifer Lawrence’s continued excellence as the people’s champion, Katniss Everdeen.

Michael Keaton’s actual acting career has obvious connections to the character he inhabits in Birdman, which adds a nice level of hyper-realism to this tale of an over-the-hill actor desperate to regain his popularity.
