P.CA$TRO as he is also known, maintains a prominent stance within the DJ world by currently working national and international clubs and events. He has been DJing professionally for 12 years and his abilities and knowledge of music and turntable technique are extensive and in his own words "mastered". Paul has been rocking crowds from Jersey, Philly, New york, Phoenix, Spain, Colombia, Peru, Chile, to Atlantic City Casino Clubs. Paul Castro has evolved as a multitalented record industry persona by continuing to evolve his talents in DJing, Production, and Engineering.
Beginning his career as Resident DJ at Club Delirium in Margate NJ in the late 90's. Paul Castro began making a name for himself in the South Jersey Club Circuit under the alias Cartel. His mentors DJ Kid 2 & DJ Sanman Mentored Paul on the art of Mixing and scrathching during his High School years. A few years later Paul went on to expand his musical and technical knowledge after taking a Job In Philly as an audio engineer working for Home Cooking Studios. Grammy Nominated Producer, Ivan Barias, took an interest in Paul's talents and mentored him on all aspects of production and engeneering. Paul has recorded with artist such as Mya, Mario, Musiq Soulchild, Skillz, Freeway, to name a few.
Castro came back on the DJ scene in 2006 determined to solidify his brand in the music world. He is not only a DJ but a music fanatic at heart who is able to create something from nothing. He can incorporate more than just latin genres into his DJ sets and beat productions. Electronica, Rock, classical, Jazz, Funk, Disco, Reggae, Hip Hop, R&B, World Music, dj samples, and trendy Mashup styles or just about anything that has orchestration or a beat could end up in a PAUL CASTRO blend. Experiencing a live set by PAUL CASTRO, one can immediately recognize that he is a crowd pleaser and when you are rocking with a pro, it's easy to have an unforgetable time. Castro's hard work and dedication has finally been paying off in recent years during which he's had the pleasure of rocking jam packed clubs and soccer stadiums.
Events such as Colombia's "Rap Al Parque" Hip Hop concert held In Bogota, Colombia in 2007. (80,000) attendees pulsated with every scratch, and drop as TRES CORONAS Ft.P.CA$TRO performed live. 2008's DMS Entertainment Superbowl Extravaganza, which featured a lineup of who's who in the hip hop charts held @ the Suns Arena, in Scottsdale, Arizona, was also televised by Pay Per View. In Late 2008, Paul Castro landed a resident DJ at Atlantic City's newest Venue, The Chelsea C5. In 2009's Allied Beverage Liquor Trade show held @ The House Of Blues. In Summer 2009 marked another milestone as Paul Castro Produced 2 songs on 50 cent's movie titled "Streets Of Blood", featuring Val Kilmer, and Sharon Stone. With more original productions in the pipeline, and new Residencies in Atlantic City, his fans can only expect better and better things in the coming months....Many would argue that the secret to his success is in his mix, or his technical experience, but PAUL CASTRO's secret is not to be told, it's to be sold to the masses.
