Ke$ha to host opening weekend of new nightclub on May 25
Atlantic City’s nightclub scene continues to thrive as a major component of the city’s catchphrase “DO AC.” Now Tilman Fertitta, owner and CEO of Landry’s Inc., is making his play for a bigger cut of the late night action, announcing a big name guest host for the opening weekend for his latest venture at the Golden Nugget, Haven Nightclub.
Pop sensation Ke$ha, who is performing two concerts with popular Miami rapper Pitbull at The Grand in the Golden Nugget, will be on hand to host the club’s opening Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26. Australian born performer, Havana Brown, who has been a DJ on tour for major pop presences like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Enrique Iglesias, will DJ and performs for guests on Friday, May 24 and Saturday May 25.
Upon entering from the casino floor, guests will descend into Haven via two escalators to a luxurious 12,000 square foot space designed to offer an atmosphere that will engage all your senses. A DJ booth featuring a Function One sound system throughout the nightclub sits in front of an LED video wall. State-of-the-art lighting systems and special effects throughout the venue set the stage for performance artists and dancers to engage and entertain the crowd. The main dance floor sits at the center of the room, surrounded by 25 leather banquettes offering signature table service and two full service bars.
In addition to the pulsating dance music by the internationally renowned DJs and performance artists, Haven will distinguish itself by being the first in Atlantic City to combine the gaming and nightclub experience on the Veranda, a covered outdoor space within the venue complete with slot machines, blackjack tables and roulette. The Veranda, which includes two large fire pits and lounge seating, offers guests a place to socialize and interact. Haven also features two special VIP entrances – an elevator from the casino floor and a valet parking entrance each with backlit sky panels in the ceilings of the entryways. With no detail left unnoticed, even the ladies lounge features jeweled walls and royal purple leather seats.
“We’re excited to bring a new type of nightlife experience to Atlantic City. It is what the contemporary nightclub customer expects with some exciting wow factors that, along with outstanding service, deliver a fun and memorable experience, which is why club-goers come to Atlantic City,” said Gregg Coyle, Vice President of Entertainment & Nightlife. “Tilman is a brilliant innovator when it comes to dining, gaming, entertainment and hospitality. After his modernizing renovation of the Golden Nugget, Haven is the finishing touch — the ultimate nightlife sanctuary — which is sure to revolutionize the Atlantic City party scene.”
Haven got hampered by winter weather in its initial attempt to launch a new night of revelry, but if patrons found the cutting-edge nightclub worth the wait when it debuted last Memorial Day weekend, two years after the start of Tilman Fertitta’s multi-million-dollar transformation of what would become the new Golden Nugget, then surely waiting another week for MisBeHaven Thursdays will be no sweat.
Not only will Atlantic City be the forerunner in the Golden Nugget family of properties to host what is intended as an annual Whiskey Festival, it will also be breaking new ground in a much more far-reaching sphere this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15-16, at the Grand Ballroom.
The H20 Pool & Bar is located on a sprawling sixth-floor rooftop and is enclosed by glass rails. Overlooking the marina district and A.C. skyline, it offers a fun and relaxing atmosphere for everyone to enjoy starting 8am daily.
Over Memorial Day weekend Golden Nugget unveiled Haven — a stunning underground nightclub that’s being billed as the finishing touch on a dramatic, two-year property-wide overhaul.
The beach bars reopen Memorial Day weekend with, of course, Revel’s HQ Beach Bar and Margaritaville’s LandShark Bar & Grill taking center stage as the latest additions east of the Boardwalk.
“I think she’s incredible,” Solange Knowles (aka Beyoncé’s singing sister) says. “How can you not be a big fan?”
"It’s a great time for us, and a great time for me. I’ve never really saw myself as just a DJ, I saw myself as a performer and being technically involved. I’m in my element right now.”
Some of the qualities that allowed Tilman Fertitta to reach the apex of the business world, and transform Landry’s Restaurants Inc. into a conglomerate worth nearly $4 billion, he seems to carry around like a set of car keys.
Ever since Tilman Fertitta, CEO of Landry’s Inc., took over the former Trump Marina last May and brought back the Golden Nugget brand to Atlantic City, the casino’s slogan has been, “Watch the Transformation.” Now the transformation is complete, and the Golden Nugget is throwing a four-day party April 26-29 to celebrate with its official Grand Opening Kick-Off Weekend.
"Basically every summer there’s a shot that becomes the “shot of the summer” that you end up making all summer long, and I’ll often suggest that."
