ATLANTIC CITY — The Boneyard Bar & Grill at 20 S. Virginia Ave. in Atlantic City has two events coming up worth checking out, including a multi-band music benefit this Friday night, Sept. 9, for the southern New Jersey chapter of the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation (ECF). The ECF was founded in 1981 in honor of Emmanuel Vizzoni, who passed away from Burkett’s lymphoma just before his seventh birthday.
“The Emmanuel Cancer Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves families that are caring for a child with cancer,” says the foundation’s Kat Leo. “This particular benefit is raising money for families in southern New Jersey. Money goes toward providing families with counseling, food, toys, clothing and crisis emergencies such as hospital bills.”
The donation is $8 in advance (call 348-3360 or e-mail philoeudaimonia@gmail.com) or $10 at the door. Bands scheduled to perform include Big Fat Marker, Sean Swift, Kickin’ Bear, the Ocean Ryders' Jeff Schwachter, the Apache Match and Soundscape (pictured right). Doors open 8pm.
Then on Tuesday, Sept. 14, Killah Priest of the Wu-Tang Clan will perform at the Boneyard along with DJ Notion and opening acts J E double F and Raymond Strife. Killah Priest’s A.C. stop follows an appearance at the annual Rock the Bells festival. Doors open 9:30pm, music starts 10pm, and Killah Priest will go on around midnight. The cover is $5 for ladies and $8 for men.
