Nightlife Spotlight

Dusk’s First Birthday Party will be held at the popular Dusk nightclub at Caesars Atlantic City (Boardwalk and Arkansas Avenue) on Saturday, June 19, starting 10pm.

Caesars state-of-the-art nightclub complex — a partnership of the Red Stripe Plane Group and the late DJ AM — will celebrate its first birthday in style with supermodel and Victoria Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio hosting the party.

San Francisco-based DJ Solomon, one of the innovators of the “mash-up” genre, will be performing.

“In general, model celebrities like Alessandra don’t do a lot of nightclub hostessing, so we’re very pleased to have her,” says Eric Millstein, vice president of Red Stripe Plane Group. “It’s very unique and rarely done, and I think this will be something exciting for Atlantic City and the East Coast. We’re excited to be able to participate in such a glamorous event.

“There’s been a big celebrity outreach, and we do expect some other celebrities to show up as well. We’re proud of the number of celebrity personalities we attract — athletes, musicians, TV actors and movie stars. We have a great, intelligent customer base and our music is second to none. If you come in on the 19th you’ll see the venue is in as pristine condition as the day it opened. We’re just really pleased with the position we’re in not only in Atlantic City, but nationally. I think we’ve created a national brand and I’d hold our club up against any in the country.”

Dusk Never Sleeps

By Ray Schweibert

Pride abounded during Dusk’s guided tour and ribbon-cutting ceremony inside Caesars during the summer of 2009 — and with good reason.
The multi-tiered, 10,000-square-foot nightclub was cutting-edge to the core, more spacious and designed differently than anything Atlantic City had seen to that point, and bolstered by a top-flight lighting-and-sound system and some of the best house and special-guest DJs in the business.

Mr. Nightlife:
Howard Weiss
By Whitney Ullman

Labor Day weekend is just about here and the summer may be over for some, but for us Atlantic City-area folk the party doesn’t end. I had the pleasure of speaking with Howard Weiss, the regional director of nightlife operations and strategy development at Caesars Entertainment. Caesars Entertainment embodies some of the hippest places to party and dance including the celebrity hot spot, “The Pool After Dark” at Harrah’s Resort and the Foundation Room, which is a chic ultra lounge located inside the Showboat Casino Hotel.
According to Weiss, the Pool is different than any of the other venue in town because it has two identities. It’s a pool by day, and a nightclub by night.
I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing both aspects.
Daytime at the Pool — especially in the winter months —...

Industry Tuesdays, Dusk Saturdays with DJ Sat-One.

DJ Sat-One: "The Atlantic City club scene is a very diverse and interchanging crowd due to that it is a vacation spot. It's great for a DJ because you're always playing for a new bunch of people each week who are just there to have a good time. Not too many places have that."
