Mr. Brew Master Gary Monterosso

One of southern New Jersey’s ... heck, one of the East Coast’s foremost authorities on all things beer, Gary Monterosso, was joined by a packed house of local and national brewing and culinary personalities Tuesday night, Nov. 29, at House of Blues’ Foundation Room.

The event celebrated the Upper Deerfield Township resident’s appearance on the new History Channel special “The Epic History of Everyday Things,” which aired Tuesday at 9pm, and announced his soon-to-be-released debut book, Artisan Beer.

An award-winning writer for several national and regional brew publications, and the webcast producer of the series “Still Crazy After All These Beers,” Monterosso’s book (visit burfordbooks.com), examines the complexity, variety and sophistication of today’s craft-brew renaissance.

It informs the reader of the various styles of beer, from ales and lagers to porters and stouts, discusses the pairing of beer with food, and details a “dream team” case of 24 beers every beer lover must find and try.
