What: Pinkjack Black Jack Tournament

Why: To benefit the Shirley Mae Breast Cancer Assistance Fund

When: May 6-8. Hours are Thurs. and Fri. 4-10pm and Sat. 10am-2pm

Where: Ego Lounge, Trump Taj Mahal, Atlantic City.

Details: The Shirley Mae Breast Cancer Assistance Fund was created in 2000 with a gift by Atlantic City businessman Roy Goldberg to honor his mother Shirley Mae Goldberg’s fight with breast cancer. The fund helps breast-cancer patients with medical, emotional and financial burdens. Participants are asked to make a $10 donation. Prizes for the tournament are 1st Place, a Sony 40-inch LCD TV; 2nd place, a Dell laptop computer and 3rd place, a LG 19-inch TV. Call 449-6070 for information.

What’s Next: The Taj Mahal is also participating in the Shirley Mae & Gilda’s Club Walk on May 8 on the Atlantic City Boardwalk in front of the casino at 9:15am. The event celebrates local breast cancer survivors of all ages with an exclusive breakfast and a survivors’ parade in which the woman in pink parade down the steps at the Trump Taj Mahal escorted by members of the St. Augustine’s Crew Team. After opening ceremonies, more than 2,000 participants and spectators will congregate on the Boardwalk for the Shirley Mae 5K Run, which heads south, and the Gilda’s Club Walk, which heads north.
