Longtime Las Vegas sensation T Fox is energizing audiences at Resorts’ 25 Hours lounge with his one-man Fox City Show.
T Fox at 25 Hours
ATLANTIC CITY — As much as he’d stand out as one of the more dapper and well groomed in any crowd, T Fox commands attention with his performance during his one-man show, sizing up audiences and reeling them in with professional show-biz panache and a six-octave vocal range.
Resorts’ 25 Hours lounge had about a dozen patrons taking a break from the gaming tables before Fox’s 8:30pm show started Monday night. Shortly thereafter the 100-or-so capacity lounge was standing room only, and folks were watching from afar as Fox performed stirring renditions of Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis and other superstars from yesteryear.
Interspersed between songs was some playful banter, props and prizes for audience members who played along with Fox’s whimsy. His second set featured more lively sounds from the funk-and-disco era by artists like Rick James, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Al Green, James Brown, Lionel Richie and others.
“The T Fox City Show is about bringing love, light and happiness — when you’re at my show, forget about your bills, forget about your problems — I want to take all that away when you’re here,” says Fox, who performed for nine years at the Las Vegas Tropicana when Dennis Gomes ran that property, then came to A.C. to perform for Gomes again at Resorts. “Love is what brings us together and music is the bridge.
“How often do you see good live entertainment in the casinos anymore?” asks Fox. “I’m trying to bring that back. I’m trying to save the lounge acts. That’s what we need more of.”
Fox performs every Friday and Saturday (10:30pm-1:30am) and Monday (8:30pm-midnight) at 25 Hours. His show-biz days date back to his early childhood (he was born in Brooklyn, but moved with his family to Detroit at age two) when, at age 10, he began touring professionally with his mother.
“My mother sang with Sarah Vaughan and Billy Eckstein [stars from the jazz and swing eras], and helped build Hitsville USA, which is what became Motown,” says Fox. “She used to tell me, ‘T, you have to keep these songs alive.’ This is real music. They have lyrics, bridges, choruses — they don’t make songs like these anymore.”
Fox sets up his own sound system and performs to digital tracks. If it’s a mixed crowd he’ll play it like he did Monday night — segueing from a mellow set into one that’s more upbeat — but he tends to tailor each set to what he thinks the crowd will best respond to.
Dennis Gomes, CEO and co-owner of Atlantic City’s Resorts Casino Hotel, died overnight on Thursday, Feb. 23, of unconfirmed causes, according to reports and information released by Resorts spokeswoman Courtney Birmingham.
The New York Times, CNN and other major news sources are reporting Tuesday morning, Oct. 4, that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) will not seek the Republican nomination for the 2012 U.S, Presidential election.
The famed seaside resort that is portrayed in HBO's hit drama series Boardwalk Empire celebrated the show's second season premiere on Sunday, Sept. 25, in a number of ways over the weekend.
Area casinos provide opportunities to win cash and prizes, as well as offering special room rates and other upgrades and amenities based on your casino play

“I've known T-Fox since junior high in Ann Arbor. He's always been an outstanding talent. We were treated to his skills in talent shows, bands and concerts for years wondering when the rest of the world would catch up. Those of us who have know him personally have been blessed by a true child of God. My family has traveled from Michigan to Vegas & Atlantic City to catch his performance. We're lifelong fans and he's got hooks in our next generation of children(he's that good) A true man of the people! Peace & Love my brother keep doing you!

“I have known and seen T-Fox entertain many times in Las Vegas. He is truly the consummate professional entertainer! I think he is the 'real energizer bunny': he keeps going and going and going. His show is a burst of positive energy. When seeing a T-Fox show, this pied piper leads his audience across a musical bridge between the past and the future where they stop in the middle and the marvel at the fireworks of the present. Treat yourself to a T-Fox show. You won't be disappointed.”

“T-Fox and Imani are two of the hardest working and most dedicated performers I've every met. The T-Fox City Show is worth the price of admisson (if folks ain't payin' at the door, they should be!!!!). No pyrotechics. No light show gimmicks. No lip-synching. The man doesn't even have a band or orchestra backing him. It's just him and the mic and the music. With those three ingredients, get ready for the ride of your life. You'll be glad you did. Vegas's lost is Atlantic City's gain. Nikki and I are so proud of you, T. Next stop: Television and Motion Pictures.”

“T Fox is great performer with a great voice, personality, talented & full of energy. I make it a point to attend his show when I'm down there. You start off humming along, tapping your feet and then you can't help yourself but to dance and sing along. Each song better than the next. No matter what your age, you know all the songs. His one man show is fantastic. He doesn't need a partner or any help. He does it all which makes it special. I highly recommend seeing him. I never want to leave even though I have to get up for work 4 hours later. Its worth the exhausted next day. His show was the highlight of 2.5 hour trip to Atlantic City. Even after losing money gambling, his show made the trip enjoyable. The fact his show was free made it even better. Of course, I left him a tip as everyone should. Dennis Gomes, if you read this, you did a great thing having T Fox there. He is the main reason I even come to play at your casino.”
