Classic cars and 9-11 remembrances mark the weekend in Ocean City.

OCEAN CITY — Everyone who knows Ocean City also knows that the boards are at their best when covered with cars.

No, not traffic. We’re talking classic street rods, hoods popped up and on display.  

This weekend is Street Rod weekend in Ocean City with a major car show at the Sports & Civic Center at 6th St., off the Boardwalk Friday through Sunday.  

From noon to 4pm Saturday, however, the show moves on to the boards for a late summer tradition. 

And it’s fairly appropriate that as part of the weekend, The Fabulous Grease Band will play Music Pier at 8pm. The show is $20.  

Of course, this weekend is also a time for reflection as the country marks the 10th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. The city will hold its annual Sept. 11 ceremony and 1pm at Veterans Memorial Park, 6th & Wesley Ave. The ceremony is open to the public. 

For the Ocean City Pops Sunday show, the pops will feature the Keystone Boychoir in a program of patriotic favorites. Show time is 7:30pm and Tickets are $15 and $10. Call 525-9300 for info on all events or visit ocnj.us.

Mozart Requiem
