Why not get a little exercise in while raising money for a good cause?
On Sunday, Oct. 10, the Linwood Care Center will host the inaugural Linwood SHOREfest to support Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point.
The 5K run/walk starts at 10am, rain or shine, at the Cornerstone Commerce Center, in Linwood (1201 New Rd.), and all proceeds benefit Shore Tomorrow, the Campaign for Shore Memorial.

Shore Memorial Hospital has been raising money to construct a new surgical pavilion, which will include 11 operating rooms, three interventional suites, three endoscopy suites, and one bronchoscopy suite. The new addition will help doctors and surgeons to see more patients while providing the best quality healthcare.
Registration is $25 for individuals and $45 for families. Prizes will be awarded to the top-three male and female finishers and top-three finishers in each age group. A community festival will take place around 11am to mark the finish of the race.
The celebration will feature a large selection of local food vendors, crafts, music, face painting and family activities.

Over 1,500 bicyclists will ride for charity in the silver anniversary of the Tour de Shore, including a 204-person team called the Wheels of Justice founded by a Pa. district attorney.
Plus this weekend's area walks and runs for charity, the album of the week: Greg Brown's 'Freak Flag,' and a new DrewToonz cartoon.
