The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) recently announced that the winner of the 2017 Spirit of Hospitality Award will go to Atlantic City Tourism District Commander Thomas R. Gilbert. The honor will be presented during the Atlantic City Host Awards Wednesday, May 3, at the ballroom at Boardwalk Hall.

According to a recent press release, “The Spirit of Hospitality Award is bestowed upon an outstanding individual who has made a long-lasting and significant contribution to the Atlantic City region’s hospitality and tourism industry. The award embodies the recipient’s spirit and dedication to serving the millions of visitors who come to Atlantic City.”

Gilbert has held his position since 2011 and has been behind many successful efforts to stabilize and improve Atlantic City’s neighborhoods and public spaces. His efforts have helped to bolster tourism and improve the public image of the city.
