Billy Walton
Provided Billy Walton will swap out his electric guitar for an acoustic on Thursday for his show at the Sweetwater Marina and Riverdeck.

The summer of 2017 holds special significance for the town of Somers Point, as it marks the 25th anniversary of the Somers Point Beach Concert Series.

The concert series is sponsored by AtlanticCare, and in order to celebrate the occasion there will be an anniversary festival Friday, June 30, with Jill West and Blues Attack, Princess Vanessa Collier and the Bo Hog brothers Southern Rock Tribute.

An anniversary show is also planned for Saturday, July 1, and will include performances by the Tony Mart Allstars Funkin’ With The Beatles (a Beatles tribute show) and Dr. Bobby Fingers, a piano-based act. In addition, there will also be a special Fourth of July concert called “Jersey Girls Do It Right,” which will feature a mix of South Jersey’s most beloved female vocalists, including Patty Blee, Geri Mingori, Sunday Grasso, Ci Bon and Rosie O’Reilly Gazarra with The Tony Mart Allstars, as well as a 25th Anniversary Labor Day show on Sunday, Sept 3, with Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience, a traditional Louisiana-based Zydeco band.

These shows are all in addition to the weekly Friday night concerts that will take place on William Morrow Beach on Bay Avenue. All shows begin at 7 p.m. and are free to the public. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at the events. In the case of inclement weather, some shows may be moved to an alternate venue or cancelled. All changes will be posted to the Somers Point Facebook page at Facebook.com/somerspoint. For more info go to SomersPointBeach Concerts.com.
