Borgata’s Culinary Lifestyle Consultant at its exclusive Water Club, Geoffrey Zakarian, was crowned as an Iron Chef on Sunday’s Fourth Season finale of Food Network’s The Next Iron Chef: Super Chefs.

“I am thrilled to be a member of this prestigious family,” said Iron Chef Zakarian. “It was a true honor to compete with such remarkable talent.”

Zakarian is the third chef/partner from Borgata’s culinary roster to be named Iron Chef, joining Bobby Flay (Bobby Flay Steak) and Wolfgang Puck (Wolfgang Puck American Grille). Iron Chefs Flay and Masaharu Morimoto joined the judging panel to determine who would join their elite culinary society in the finale of the competition, which aired Sunday, Dec. 18.

Zakarian, a regular judge on the Food Network series, Chopped, is also Chef/ Partner at The Lambs Club and The National in New York City.

“This win exemplifies the caliber of chefs here at Borgata, where we strive to provide the best in the culinary arts on the East Coast,” said Nicolas Kurban, Vice President of Food & Beverage for Borgata. “We couldn’t be more excited to have not one, not two, but three Iron Chefs under one roof. Iron Chef Zakarian has been an integral part of Borgata’s food and beverage program since The Water Club’s debut in 2008, bringing his culinary and decorative vision to life in Atlantic City.”

Zakarian will make his Food Network Iron Chef America debut in a battle against Victor Casanova, executive chef at Culina, an Italian restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, on Sunday, December 25 at 9pm.
