Events to include Cal-Ital Summer Winefest, Beer Festival and Shrimp Fest
Summer is the prime season for hosting festivals and the Golden Nugget is taking part in the tradition with a trio of indoor/outdoor festivals in August and September.
The Cal-Ital Summer Winefest Aug. 17-19, will present the best of both California and Italian wines. This vino celebration kicks off Friday, Aug. 17, with the Wine & Jazz Reception where participants can mingle with winery owners, winemakers and wine enthusiasts under the stars at the H2O Pool Bar from 8-10pm. Enjoy live jazz and wines from over 25 wineries complimented by award winning cuisine. Participating wineries include: Levendi, Cosentino, Ferrari Carano, Robert Mondavi, Francis Ford Coppola, Trinchero, Flora Springs, Andretti and more. Tickets are $35.
The Grand Tasting is Saturday, Aug. 18, where guests can sample over 120 wine selections from California and Italy’s most prestigious wineries. The event will take place in The Grand from 7–10pm and feature live jazz and culinary delights. Tickets are $65.
Sunday, Aug. 19 features the Sparkling Brunch and Fashion Show from 11am-1pm in The Grand. Guests will enjoy American and Italian brunch offerings paired with sparkling wines and will be followed by a fashion show. Tickets are $35.
Guests who book the Cal-Ital Summer Winefest in advance can lock in the discounted ticket price of $99 for all three events.
Golden Nugget’s second annual Bubba Gump Co. Shrimp Fest will take place on Saturday, Sept. 1, and Sunday, Sept. 2, from noon-8pm. Enjoy a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. inspired menu, specialty drinks, live entertainment, retail tents and fun games on The Deck. Admission is free.
The 2012 Beer Festival takes place Saturday, Sept. 29 and Sunday, Sept. 30. The first event kicks off Saturday, Sept. 29, with the Craft Beer Tasting, from 7-10pm in The Grand. Guests will have the opportunity to sample over 200 varieties of craft beer selections and enjoy chef-inspired cuisine while listening to live music and mingling with some of America’s hottest award-winning brew masters. Tickets are $49.
Sunday, Sept. 30, the Golden Nugget presents a traditional Oktoberfest Party. The event will take place on The Deck overlooking the Marina, from noon-6pm. Admission is free and beer enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of craft beers available for purchase while listening to great live music.

More properties are structuring their social schedules and nightlife scenes around pools, and not just during the summer months.
Golden Nugget encouraged its guests, through a variety of construction-related promotions, to be part of the sweeping makeover that actually began a few weeks before the casino’s parent company, hospitality industry giant Landry’s Inc., purchased the former Trump Marina for $38 million.
Ever since Tilman Fertitta, CEO of Landry’s Inc., took over the former Trump Marina last May and brought back the Golden Nugget brand to Atlantic City, the casino’s slogan has been, “Watch the Transformation.” Now the transformation is complete, and the Golden Nugget is throwing a four-day party April 26-29 to celebrate with its official Grand Opening Kick-Off Weekend.
Some of the qualities that allowed Tilman Fertitta to reach the apex of the business world, and transform Landry’s Restaurants Inc. into a conglomerate worth nearly $4 billion, he seems to carry around like a set of car keys.
