ATLANTIC CITY — Since opening in the city's Marina District earlier this year, the Golden Nugget, which is located where the former Trump Marina once did, has been all about transformation.

It's a buzz word that only refers to the overall vision of Landry's Inc., the parent company of Golden Nugget, but also ties in nicely with the major shifts taking shape in Atlantic City as a whole.

As Atlantic City positions itself to become the year-round tourist destination everybody would like to see, over the past several months — and ongoing — construction crews have been transforming the former Trump Marina property into gold.

The casino has launched a new "watch the transformation" video, which you can watch below, and, according to a release sent out to the media on Tuesday, Dec. 6, the casino continues to make major headway on its renovations.

The goal of the Golden Nugget Atlantic City's extensive $150 million renovation project is "to bring guests a more refined, modern resort experience," according to the official release.

Listen to Tom Pohlman, VP & GM of Golden Nugget Atlantic City and Amy Chasey, VP of marketing, talk about what's new at the Golden Nugget and the ongoing transformation projects:

Chart

Here is a list of the hotel and casino’s completed renovations to date, including the dining, hotel and entertainment realms:

The Chart House
Landry's owns 30 Chart House restaurants, and the seafood venue is known for its waterfront views and fine-dining fare. The Atlantic City Chart House, which opened this past May, is located right on the water.

Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse
Its Houston location has been voted one of the Top Ten Steakhouses in America, and since opening this summer, the Atlantic City location has brought a new world-class dining establishment to the resort, featuring an "intimate atmosphere of hand-crafted mahogany woodwork, plush leather furnishings and luxurious amenities."

Michael Patrick’s Brasserie
Opened recently, Michael Patrick’s is a 150-seat "ultra-chic European style brasserie." The upscale, eclectic menu is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. "With its modern décor and exceptional cuisine, you’ll find that Michael Patrick’s is not a typical coffee shop but instead features traditional favorites with a unique twist in presentation and flavors."

The Showroom
The newly renovated Showroom seats only 500, making it one of the most intimate rooms in the resort. With its plush theater-style seating, the room has hosted Kathleen Madigan, Vince Neil and 1964…The Tribute, to date. (Watch video of the Beatles tribute show here.)

Check- In
According to the statement, "As an area that serves to be the primary focal point of the hotel, the check-in lobby has been refurbished to give a modern feel upon arrival. With contemporary chandeliers, a marble desk and built-in iPads, the inviting atmosphere will set the tone for a one-of-a-kind experience."

Rooms & Suites (on select floors)
Along with many other improvements on property, many of the Golden Nugget's deluxe guest rooms and suites have been remodeled to "embrace the elegance and refinement that the Golden Nugget brings to Atlantic City." While many of the property's floors have been completed, all rooms and suites are slated to be finished by February 2012.

Among other completed renovations are the Golden Nugget's High Limit Gaming areas, its 24 Karat Club (rewards program), and Wine & Wi-Fi, "the perfect place to relax and recharge," according to the release. "Wine & Wi-Fi is located on the 4th floor, near the meeting and convention space.  Overlooking the atrium, Wine & Wi-Fi features comfortable furniture and allows guests to sip a glass of wine while catching up on emails or the events of the day with complimentary Internet connections."

Other renovation projects underway at the Golden Nugget include:

The city still faces growing out-of-state competition, gaming revenues are still down and the country’s persistent economic problems are keeping any tourists destination’s hopes for a rebound low.
