The 'Jersey Shore' star presents Team Snooki Boxing at Resorts
'Snooki' is ready to rumble.
If you think of fighting and Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi you might imagine her in a major catfight with one of her gal pals from the show. Instead, however, the announcement is that Polizzi is getting into the legitimate boxing ring as a promoter.
Team Snooki Boxing starring the Hyland Brothers, a trio of Irish boxers, will make its premier at Resorts Superstar Theater on January 28. Doors open at 6:30pm and the tickets range from $50-$200.
Polizzi appeared on WFAN and MSG Network’s The Boomer and Carton Show on Wednesday Dec. 14, to announce the latest venture in her growing empire.
Team Snooki Boxing will feature brothers Patrick “Pajo” Hyland (featherweight, 24-0, 11 KOs), the Irish Featherweight Champion; Eddie Hyland (super-featherweight, 16-1, 6 KOs, former Irish super-featherweight champion) and Paul Hyland (super-bantamweight, 20-2, 6 KOs), Irish Super-Bantamweight Champion, and former EU Super-Bantamweight Champion.
The event, to be titled “The Irish Invasion,” will mark the first time that three brothers, who are all Irish champions, have fought on the same card in America.
“We are incredibly excited to introduce The Hyland Brothers and Team Snooki Boxing. We’ve seen what these boys can do, and expect nothing less than continued success and ‘living up to the hype’ for each of them here in the States,” said Mike Pascale, Vice President of Final Round Promotions. “The Irish Invasion” will be presented by Final Round Promotions on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012.
Jersey Shore is scheduled to return to MTV for season five on January 5.
Below is the video of Snooki getting punched by a drunk during an episode of Jersey Shore.
"On Saturday, June 2, we're going to have an all-star boxing legends tribute. What we're trying to do is get together all of the boxing personalities. Whether they are boxers, managers, promoters, ring announcers, referees, you name it, we're trying to get together everybody to celebrate the contribution that they have made in making Atlantic City the boxing mecca that it is."
ABC’s Jake Tapper asked Christie on the news show The Week Sunday, July 25, whether the Situation, Snooki, and the gang are “positive for New Jersey or negative.” Christie answered “negative” without hesitation.
Maybe it’s the constant fist pumping or all that hair gel. Maybe it’s the names the self-proclaimed Guidos and Guidettes dub themselves such as J-WOWW, Snooki and The Situation. Or it could be that apparently the cast of MTV’s controversial, but wildly successful 'Jersey Shore' can’t get through a one-hour episode without someone taking a swing at somebody else — other cast members, strangers, whatever.
