In February Caesars made $255,000 off of poker. So the WSOP event nearly tripled the casino’s poker revenue. That’s quite a one-month bump that even beat out the Taj Mahal for No. 2 poker room in the city.

Still, poker is a tough market to crack. The Golden Nugget so far has barely registered with its new poker room and now Revel has opened an eigth room in town.

There’s no telling, at this point, if either casino can make an impact. But if the Borgata can bring out more than 1,000 poker players on an April Wednesday for a $200 tournament, you have to figure it’s worth a shot.

In a little slot news, Caesars Entertainment has introduced some new slots based on the classic board game Clue.

Players try to solve a mystery — guessing the murderer, murder weapon, and in which room. Players have a chance to solve the mystery at the end of each of seven bonus rounds to win a progressive award.
