An upscale yet cozy atmosphere and eclectic menu await at The Continental

As the flagship enterprise of the Starr dining empire, The Continental — situated center stage on Level 3 of The Pier Shops at Caesars — nicely represents a wide array of food genres in a casual, upscale atmosphere.
Grazing is the order of the day. All items are presented family-style, usually for the table, and delivered just as soon as ready.
It’s a unique concept calling for well-trained, flexible staffers, capable of expediting lots of food quickly.
We began a recent weekend meal with three items: Korean pork tacos, pan seared scallops with soba noodles and a mushroom flatbread.
The pair of tacos were large, bordering on burrito-size girth, and stuffed with tender slices of sweet roasted pork. A piquant Korean BBQ — heavy on both garlic as well as chiles — added contrasting flavor profiles.
Each tightly wrapped taco brought two or three bites of perfectly executed global tapas, exactly as advertised on the menu.
The scallops had been singed until light brown outside, left properly cool within. They were plated atop a cradle of auburn-hued honey soy butter, complex and rich. As tasty as those elements were, they might have been outdone by the accompanying tangle of skinny noodles.
Restaurant Week extends from Sunday through Saturday, March 4-10, and offers a three-course lunch for $15.12 and similar dinner for only $33.12 (many eateries may also extend the promotion beyond those dates.)
