Charlie’s Bar has maintained the tradition of the South Jersey shore bar scene with a familiar atmosphere, and really good hot wings. Since Charlie Thomas opened his bar in 1944, the family business has thrived on the friendly tone that caters to newcomers and daily customers alike. The corner bar doubles as a full service restaurant, and offers a range of American cuisine for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night options.

Customers can expect the usual sandwiches and burgers, but should also sample Charlie’s crab cake or filet mignon sandwiches, and broiled Brazilian lobster tail. Most importantly, Charlie’s hot wings are not to be passed up. The four varied sauces have made the typical bar fare famous throughout the region, and the highly revered Southwest sauce recipe is a Thomas family secret to this day. Daily specials vary, but Sunday consistently offers a Sunday breakfast from 9am-noon, and seafood specials immediately following, from noon until 4pm.

Come by Charlie’s on any Phillies game day for Phillies Dollar Dog Dates to watch the game and grab a cheap bite. Or, for the Eagles fans, Sept. 13 marks Charlie’s annual pigroast to celebrate the Eagles’ opening the season.
