Hours: Kitchen hours are 11am-1am daily. Bar hours are 8am-2am Sun.-Fri., and 8am-3am Sat. Three daily happy hours are 8am-noon, 4pm-7pm, and 10pm-closing.
History: Since its founding in 1964, the Mystic Islands Casino has been questioned by customers about its “casino” mantra, though there is neither a slot machine nor a gaming table to be found. The origin behind “casino” comes from the word casa, which is Italian for house. Over more recent years it has taken on the meaning of a “gambling establishment,” but the Mystic Islands Casino strives for a more casual feel, where one could eat, have a drink, and maybe follow with a game of pool afterwards. Owned by the Hemmelstein family since 1971, they have kept the theme alive for 45 years.
What to Know: The menu includes a variety of Italian, American and seafood items. Daily specials and a children’s items are also available, and a special bar menu is offered during the three daily happy hours. There is also an extensive dessert menu.
Owner’s Tip: “Our wings and burgers are the best, and are among our biggest sellers,” says Gary Hemmelstein. “They’re fantastic.”
