This Sunday, Feb. 14, Showboat’s House of Blues will a host a special version of its highly touted Gospel Brunch with a Valentine’s Day motif. Given its southern roots, House of Blues venues across the country host regular Sunday brunches with a southern-style buffet followed by rousing gospel performances that encourage audience participation. At the A.C. venue, located at New Jersey Avenue and the Boardwalk, patrons of all ages will enjoy Deep South classics such as rosemary cornbread muffins with maple butter, pecan caramel sticky buns, hickory-smoked bacon and sausage links, cheddar cheese grits, scrambled eggs, Creole chicken, several types of salads and delectable desserts. The buffet-style spread is set up at HOB’s main concert hall and includes carving stations with smoked turkey breast and prime rib of beef. Seating starts at 11am and the gospel singers begin around noon. Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for children aged 16 and under. Call 236-blue (2583) or visit houseofblues.com for more information.
