Name: Luciano Lamberti's Restaurant
Address: 9707 Amherst Avenue, Margate. 487-6001. www.sunsetonthebay.com
Menu: Lamberti's offers many authentic Italian pasta and seafood dishes to choose from. A popular item on their menu is zuppa di pesce, which is linguini with red, white, or spicy sauce, jumbo shrimp, sea scallops, mussels, calamari and clams.
History: Luciano Lamberti, a native of Naples, Italy, opened this restaurant in May 2000 after having a restaurant in Voorhees for some time. His initial idea was to open a "pasta house," but the restaurant's options have grown since then with its ever-changing menu. The Italian recipes that are used were passed down from Lamberti's parents, who were also in the restaurant business.
Chef's Tip: "The seafood dishes are good," says main chef Pedro Herrera. "So is the zupa di pesce, veal chop, and filet minion."
What to Know: Open at 11am. Lunch until 4pm and dinner until 10 or 11pm. The bar is open until "the last person leaves." Daily happy hour 3-7pm with half-price appetizers and beer specials. Accepts all major credit cards (except Discover). Reservations are recommended for parties of eight or more. Take-out available from the lunch and dinner menus. Free parking at Monroe Avenue & Amherst Avenue lot. The outdoor deck remains open (as weather permits) overlooking the marina, where slips are available for boaters. Restaurant and deck offer great sunset views.
