Pistol Pete's restaurant will live up to its name this Saturday, Oct. 25. Owner Pete Quarelli's popular Pleasantville restaurant will host celebrity chef Guy Mitchell's Wild, Wild West Live Cooking Showdown at 7pm. The weapons of choice in this showdown will be sauté pans and a few good chef knives. The event will include a TV-show taping, and will feature Pistol Pete's Steakhouse signature items for a food sampling and wine tasting, with tickets priced at $29.95 per person. According to Quarelli, "It's a thrill to work with someone of Chef Guy's caliber. I've had a great time developing the menu for this event with him, and I know our guests will be in for a real treat."
Mitchell graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, did an apprenticeship at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, was executive chef for the Philadelphia Eagles and a chef for the Academy Awards. He has worked with such famous chefs at Emeril Lagasse, Morimoto, Bobby Flay, Paula Dean and Guy Fieri. For more info and advance tickets for the Showdown, call 412-9009.
