Caesars outstanding steakhouse presents modern new look
Atlantic City’s dining scene has developed into an east coast mecca for foodies in the past decade with an amazing collection of outstanding restaurants. And when it comes to restaurant styles, perhaps the city’s crowning achievement is the extensive collection of upscale steakhouses.
One of the best of these heavenly red meat emporiums is Morton’s The Steakhouse. Apparently when the food is fabulous and the décor divine, an upscale dining experience is recession proof.
Morton’s recently completed a modernization of its dining space with new carpet, artwork, booths, seating and lighting. The newly renovated bar is now incorporated into the dining space.
In addition to the design updates, the menu has also been updated with such items as an ahi tuna tower, braised short ribs and fresh fish. These join Morton’s signature USDA prime-aged steak, like its 24 oz, porterhouse, center cut filet mignon, center cut prime ribeye, as well as classic seafood items such as cold water lobster tail, Chilean seabass fillet and Alaskan king crab legs.
To introduction the new look and new menu items, Morton’s had a press night Jan. 17 in its private dining area, the Boardroom. Described as “light bites and cocktails,” a trip around the room allowed one to indulge in filet, short rib and crab cake sliders, pristine chilled shrimp, ahi tuna on a crispy sesame wonton, perfectly seasoned lamb chops, prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella bites and sliced filet with whipped horseradish. The short rib was melt-in-your mouth tender, the filet was amazing, the tuna fresh and satisfying. Dessert tastings included key lime squares and cheesecake, both outstanding.
Morton’s The Steakhouse is open Mon.-Sat. 5-11pm and Sun. 5-10pm. For reservations call 449-1044.
