Lace up for the 7th Annual Atlantic City Triathlon Saturday, Aug. 5. The day couples as a tour of the surrounding Atlantic City area, with two options for athletes.

The featured competition of the day is the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships, an Olympic distance triathlon consisting of a 10K race on the boardwalk, a 1-mile swim in the city’s back bays, and a 22-mile bike ride along the Expressway. Those who finish in either the Top 33 percent of their age division or in the Top 5 will qualify for the 2018 USA Triathlon Olympic-Distance Age Group National Championships.

For the runner wanting a slightly less intense option, a beginner Sprint Triathlon race is included, with a .25 mile swim, 11 mile bike ride, and 5K race. Aquabike options are also available, with just swim and bike routes included.

The Olympic Triathlon and Aquabike start at 6:30 a.m., with the Sprint Triathlon starting at 7 a.m. The event begins at Bader Field, 600 N. Albany Avenue, Atlantic City. Prices range from $119 to $235. For more information, go to
