Somers Point Good Old Days Festival

Somers Point is hosting one last hurrah to celebrate everything that made the season memorable during the 40th annual Somers Point Good Old Days Festival, taking place Saturday, Sept. 9.

Held at John F. Kennedy Memorial Park, locals and visitors can give summer a proper send-off, starting with the Lawrence “Bud” Kern Memorial 5K Run/Walk, taking place at 9 a.m. with awards in various divisions and complimentary bagels from Hot Bagels and More. Registration is $25 and will begin at 7:30 a.m.

Then from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the picnic-style festival takes place, overflowing with activities for every age, such as carnival games, inflatables and pony rides for the kids, karate and K-9 demonstrations, and antique cars on display. Shop the day’s vendors, with around 20 in attendance selling handmade crafts alongside community groups offering information about the town. Your favorite summer foods will also be available, with $1.50 hot dogs and hamburgers fresh off the grill, pizza, ice cream, funnel cakes and more. And stop by the beer garden for a drink.

After grabbing food, sit and listen to live music on two stages, with performances from noon to 6 p.m. The Tony Mart’s All-Stars will perform in a performance of “Jersey Girls Do it Right!,” starring Geri Mingori, CiBon, Sunday Grasso and Roseann “Rosie” O’Reilly Gazzara.

will be bringing their dance party tunes to the stage as well, so get those dancing shoes ready.

Proceeds from the day benefit the Lawrence “Bud” Kern Scholarship Foundation. Admission is free. The park is located at 24 Broadway. For more information on any of the events, call 609-402-5062 or go to SPGoodOldDays.com.
