Those looking to liven up the middle of their week should mosey on over to Margate 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, for a free, fun-filled evening of live entertainment, and to lend support to two of South Jersey’s most beloved institutions. Dubbed “Lucy Meets the Dolphin Part II,” the event will be held at 9200 Atlantic Ave. in Margate — the site of the world’s most beloved pachyderm, Lucy the Elephant, who recently celebrated her 136th birthday. Two musical acts are in store, including Jim Craine and the Atlantic City All-Star Band, and Fun Wave, a group specializing in danceable hits from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s.

Proceeds will go toward helping to keep National Historic Landmark Lucy in tip-top shape. Additionally, Sheila Dean, co-founder and director of the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, will be on hand to promote the MMSC’s Adopt-A-Seal Program, which helps provide food, medicine and care to the dozens of sick or injured seals the center assists annually.
