Ocean City is ringing in the New Year once again with a plethora of activities starting New Year’s Eve Sunday, Dec. 31.

First Night, the city’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration, will begin at 4 p.m. and end when the clock strikes midnight. The city-wide event includes magic shows, concerts, ice skating, rides and more, all concluding with a fireworks display off the beach at midnight. First Night buttons are $20. On New Year’s Day, celebrate the first day of 2018 with a few fun events. From noon to 3 p.m., the town will have downtown shopping specials on Asbury Avenue from 5th to 14th streets and free horse and carriage rides infront of City Hall, at 861 Asbury Ave. Then the annual 5K Boardwalk Run and Walk will take place at 1 p.m. Runners can meet at the Music Pier, located at Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk.
