The late Gil Scott-Heron's book about his 1980-81 tour with Stevie Wonder, when Wonder was campaigning to have Martin Luther King's birthday made into a national holiday, was never completed. But, published posthumously, 'The Last Holiday - A Memoir' gives a great deal of insight into the late poet, singer, activist and musician's world — with his voice pouring off the pages, keeping his spirit alive in the hearts of his worldwide fans. In this chapter, Gil recounts the night of the tour when John Lennon was shot and killed.
