The New Hope Baptist Church, of Newark, N.J., held a Home Going Service for the late pop star Whitney Houston Saturday morning, Feb. 18. The service was attended by about 1,500 invited guests including several public figures such as Jessie Jackson, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Cosby, David Bowie, Brandy, Tyler Perry, Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, CeCe Winans, Al Sharpton and Kevin Costner. Houston’s godmother, Aretha Franklin, sang at the ceremony. Pictured are fans and others who stood outside the church with many members of the media to say farewell to Houston.
