BREAKING NEWS: Former president is among politicos and TV personalities slated for the Hilton this summer in Atlantic City
ATLANTIC CITY - Hail to the chief. Now pass the dice.
Former President Bill Clinton and former Vice President Dick Cheney will be part of a series of special events this summer at the Atlantic City Hilton that will also include a joint appearance by conservative Fox News political commentators Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly, Atlantic City Weekly has learned.
Although casino officials aren’t commenting on the series, which will be open to the public, sources inside the gaming hall said Beck and O’Reilly will kick off the series together on June 24. Clinton takes the stage of the 1,200-seat Hilton Theater on July 23 and Cheney will appear in the showroom on Sept. 18.
“We’re reaching out to both side of the [political] aisle,” one source inside the Hilton said, speaking on the condition of anonymity. “We’re not taking sides on this on way or another.”
Former President George W. Bush and former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin were also approached to be part of the series, but each turned down offers.Tickets for the Beck/O’Reilly event will go on sale Friday through Ticketmaster.
Clinton will become the first former or current chief executive to visit an Atlantic City casino. Atlantic City’s last presidential visit was in 1978, when Jimmy Carter delivered a keynote address at the old Convention Hall, now known as Boardwalk Hall.
Two years earlier, President Gerald Ford made a campaign stop on the Boardwalk to deliver a speech at the annual New Jersey Education Association convention.
Last year, former Vice President Al Gore was at Bally’s Atlantic City to deliver a speech in support of former Gov. Jon Corzine at New Jersey’s Democratic State Committee convention.
Here are the confirmed dates for the Hilton's Summer Speaker Series:
June 24: Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly
July 23: Former President Bill Clinton
Sept. 18: Former Vice President Dick Cheney
Miller on O'Reilly: “He’s anti-death penalty and stuff like that, and he’s more in [President Obama’s] corner than I am. He’s willing to give him a wider berth than I am.”
As with the former Atlantic City Hilton (currently dubbed simply ACH), the Vegas Hitlon is owned by the investment group Colony Capital LLC, "a pioneer among private-equity investors that gambled big on casinos starting in the 1990s, before its luck recently went cold," according to the WSJ report.
Atlantic City’s smallest casino will make history Friday night, July 23, when it hosts arguably the biggest “headliner” of the summer: Former President Bill Clinton.

“Hello all.
Won't this be an exciting event. I am thrilled it will take place in
Atlantic city, since I am a New Jersey resident. I am especially
interested in what Pres. Bill Clinton has to say. His intelligence
goes far beyond all the other political people out there. Thank you
Hilton for grabbing the moment.”
