Althought the weather may still be keeping you guessing, the first day of autumn fell earlier this week. In celebration of all things fall — festivals, pumpkin pie and apple picking — here are some songs to load onto your iPod in order to make your time raking leaves a little bit more enjoyable.

1.“Autumn Leaves”

Cannonball Adderley

2.“Brand New ’64 Dodge”

Greg Brown

3.“September Baby”

Joseph Arthur

4.“September Gurls”

Big Star

5.“September Song”

Frank Sinatra

6.“Mississippi”

Bob Dylan

7.“Golden Autumn Day”

Van Morrison

8.”Indian Summer”

Chris Whitley

9.“October”
